CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light) have numerous advantages compared to traditional incandescent lighting of the same luminous flux. Cfl bulbs last 12 times longer than incandescents and while they are initially more expensive to purchase they provide a far more economical consumption of energy as well as longevity lowering utilities by $30 USD per the life of just one bulb. Cfls compared to their competition, such as incandescent and halogen are significantly better especially in low energy consumption. Compact Fluorescent bulbs provide a pleasant even distribution of cool white light and are cool to the touch, while incandescents convert the energy into heat. Point in fact the incandescent bulb only uses 10 percent of the electricity to generate light, the rest of the energy heats the filament up to 4000 degrees making the bulb extremely hot over time and extremely inefficient.
